Zanzibar Culture Tour
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

This tour begins in Stone Town, where you’ll travel with a guide through the city and stop at the Old Fort, erected in the 1600s, and the House of Wonders, which was the former Sultan of Zanzibar’s residence. Stone Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is a charming and unique town that is home to a number of interesting shops. The Anglican Church, which is located where the former slave market once stood, is also a noteworthy attraction.

Finally, the former dispensary is a fascinating building that is worth exploring. You’ll learn about the town’s history and its architecture from the knowledgeable guide. There are also plenty of interesting facts about the town’s residents and their history.

Further south on the island, you’ll find the fishing town of Mkokotoni. It’s a lively community located about 21 kilometers south of Nungwi. Mkokotoni is a small village located in the agricultural setting of the Rift Valley. The village is lively with a population of around 350 people, and visitors are often drawn to the community’s agricultural setting and lively village life. The lively and bustling market is where Zanzibar and Tumbatu locals buy and sell fresh fish. There is a wide variety to choose from, and the atmosphere is lively and exciting.

The new dhows being built in the harbor behind are being repaired and built, while the stalls in the harbor display stacks of coconuts, fruits, vegetables, and spices. There is an abundance of these stalls, which indicates that there is a lot of demand for these goods. The administrative buildings that can be seen along the main avenue of almond trees date back to colonial authority, but today’s village life is still centered on straightforward trading with neighbors.

Many of the villagers still farm the land, and they sell their produce to the nearby town. The village is a peaceful and picturesque place, and it is a great place to live if you are interested in traditional agriculture and trading.
