Travel to Marangu Gate, the entrance to Kilimanjaro, in the early morning to avoid the crowds and enjoy the beautiful scenery. In an hour, you’ll be awestruck by the scenery as you pass coffee and banana farms, Marangu, and Kilimanjaro rises majestically in front of you. After you have registered at the Marangu Gate, your experience will start.

The trail is crowded as you walk through the jungle. The forest is moist and foggy, and the trees are covered in soft moss. The dampness gives the forest a mystifying feel. Additionally, you’ll see tired hikers coming down from the summit. They’ve had a long day and are looking forward to getting back home. Hiking to Mandara Hut takes around three hours, so take a break there and have a hearty lunch.

Then continue the short but strenuous hike to the Maundi Crater. On a clear day, you can see stunning views of Taveta to the east and Mawenzi Peak to the northwest. Bring your camera and be prepared for a great time! We’ll have a great time taking pictures and exploring the area. After touring the Marangu Gate, you will descend back to the Marangu Gate and your driver will be waiting to take you back to Moshi.

You will be happy and exhausted from your trip. Even if you’re not in great shape, you can still complete this day hike up Kilimanjaro. The hike is relatively short and easy, and the views are absolutely worth it.
